The dismissal wave continues in Prahova as almost 3.800 workers are about to lose their jobs in the following three months. According to the data supplied by the Prahova County Agency for Man Power Occupation, 26 commercial units have announced collective dismissals in the period March - May.

Pa&Co, a firm controlled by the "asphalt king”, the business man Costel Căşuneanu, was fined last week by Prahova police officers for the infernal traffic it caused on Ploieşti West ring road. For almost a week, lines of vehicles can be spotted in the area, reaching a length of more than 5 kilometers on both ways. The nerves of the drivers caught in traffic on the West ring road are stressed due to the works executed by Pa&Co for the increasing of the circulation capacity on DN1with E60.

The road to the 1.400 Height Sinaia was blocked on Saturday for several hours due to the drivers that entered the respective section, which was covered with snow, without proper winter equipment. Approximately 80 cars, including an ambulance, were stuck in traffic because of the unfavourable weather conditions. After the intervention of a snow removal vehicle, the traffic came back to normal on Saturday afternoon.

Last week, in Proviţa de Jos a dairy factory made with Sapard funds was inaugurated. The factory lies on a surface of 3.500 mp, a terrain taken in concession from the Proviţa de Jos City-hall, and it has state of the art equipment. The factory has a reception hall for milk raw material, a milk pasteurization hall, a viscous products production hall: yoghurt, sour cream, milk, a cheese fabrication hall: salted cheese, soft cow cheese, two stations in which the emptying and labelling of the products is done, four refrigerating depots, a delivery hall, a physical-chemical laboratory for the vetenerian, an osmosis station, a thermal plant and several depots. The milk that will be processed, will be collected from the commune and from the near-by areas. The total value of the project is of 1.642 000 euro (50% SAPARD programme and 50 % investors). As a result of this investment, 14 persons have been hired so far.

Another 1000 people from Prahova County will lose their jobs in the period to come. The sole producer of Diesel engine injection equipments from Romania, Mefin, located in Sinaia, and the oldest refinery from the county, Steaua Română, located in Câmpina, ceased their activity and shall dismiss, in the near future, almost 1000 employees.

Prahova County is in full process of demographic ageing - this is the clear conclusion of the statisticians following a recent demographic survey. The data announced by the Prahova County Statistics Department indicate that the statistical weight of the youngsters, compared to the number of senior persons, is considerably lower. Much more severe is the fact that the number of children, those who will become adults in 20 or 30 years, is quite insignificant compared to the number of senior citizens in the County. The statisticians state that the three main causes of the ageing process have an unequal influence.

The first cause is the decrease in birthrate, which is resulted from the low number of young persons and, implicitly, the growth of the old population. The second cause is the influence of the average lifespan growth on the ageing process. Last, but not the least, is the ageing of the population in our County and the phenomenon of local manpower migration abroad.

Tens of thousands less youngsters

A last statistical situation was made at the beginning of 2008 and shows that in Prahova, out of the total 819.600 inhabitants, the number of children with ages comprised between 0 and 15 was barely above a hundred thousand, respectively 116.884 inhabitants in this age group. On the other hand, the number of old persons within the group 60 - 85 was of almost 180.000 inhabitants, more exactly 179.430 senior citizens. Under these circumstances, the statisticians show that, in the long run, the ratio of sustaining the active persons for the inactive ones will be more and more overwhelming in the detriment of the first. Moreover, the same analysis shows the fact that, in Prahova County, women continue to predominate from a numeric point of view, respectively 422.264 women compared to 397.336 men.

Oficiul Naţional al Registrului Comerţului (ONRC) a anunţat că va radia, din oficiu, persoanele fizice şi asociaţiile familiale autorizate şi înregistrate în registrul comerţului, în baza unor acte normative anterioare OUG nr. 44/2008, dacă acestea nu optează pentru continuarea activităţii până la 25 aprilie 2009. "La data de 25 aprilie 2009 expiră termenul până la care se mai poate exercita dreptul de opţiune pentru continuarea activităţii comerciale în una din formele prevăzute de lege. Prevederea se adresează persoanelor fizice şi asociaţiilor familiale autorizate şi înregistrate în registrul comerţului", se arată într-un comunicat emis de ONRC. După această dată, vor fi radiate, fără nici o altă formalitate, din registrul comerţului toate persoanele fizice şi asociaţiile familiale autorizate înregistrate în registrul comerţului în temeiul unor acte normative şi care nu şi-au exercitat dreptul de opţiune prevăzut.

Within the last meeting of the Ploieşti Local Council there has been debated the acquisition of an electronic system of controlling and ordering the population that comes to pay the local taxes and fees. The machine was brought by a firm from Focşani 4 months ago in order to be tested. In this period, the system has proven to be efficient, therefore SPFL Ploieşti asked for a budget adjustment of 750 million old lei to purchase this system that prevents the forming of queues. The electronic system is formed by a touch screen and a command key and shortens the waiting time for the tax payer who benefits from the services of the institution, and also the answer of the public clerk from the counter, creating a more relaxed atmosphere.
"People are pleased with the system and that is why we thought that it would be better to purchase it. We could have also rented it, but this would have cost more on the long term than the machine itself. After the money is allocated, we will start the acquisition procedure. The firm from Focşani is the only bidder, we have received no other offers” declared the chief of SPFL Ploieşti, Ion Marina.
